About Aftab

Aftab Khan’s love for music began whilst watching his father (Aslam Khan) record and mix music at the famous Aslam’s Studio in Mumbai. Continuing his father’s line of work, Aftab has worked as a sound engineer for over 12 years.

Starting out as an apprentice in his father’s studio, Aftab began his career working as a junior sound engineer for Salim Sulaiman at their studio – Blue. By 2008, Aftab was regarded as a senior engineer and became and still remains their main sound engineer both in the studio and for their live performances.

In 2010, Aftab became a free lance engineer for other composers and created his own studio – Headroom^TM Studios in January 2015.

Since then, Aftab has worked extensively on hundreds of background scores and songs. He has collaborated with many industry-leading composers and producers such as Salim Sulaiman, Abhijit Vaghani, Rajesh Roshan, Pritam, Amaal Malik, Vishal Khurana, Julius Packiam, Sneha Khanwalkar, Sonu Nigam, Tanisk Bagchi, Sachet Parampara, Guru Randhawa and John Stewart to name a few.
